Maldives on a Budget

One of the islands in Baa Atoll that is inhabited is Dharavandhoo. The island is located 116.53 kilometres (72 mi; 63 nmi) north of Malé, the country's capital. A sanctuary for a variety of marine species, including manta rays and whale sharks, this island is surrounded by crystal-clear waters known as Dharavandhoo Thila and Hanifaru Straight, which are well-known among divers worldwide. Currently, regulations are strictly enforced to protect this highly regarded eco-life zone.

The description of my travels in the Baa Atoll can be found in part on this page. I also went to Fehendhoo, Fulhadhoo, Goidhoo, Thulhaadhoo, Maalhos, Kamadhoo, and Dhonfanu in addition to Dharavandhoo. The link to the next island can be found at the bottom of the website.

The final stop on my voyage through the Baa Atoll was the island of Dharavandhoo, which I reached from Kamadhoo via local ferry.

Although Dharavandhoo is only 1.5 km long, the southern half of the island is taken up by an airport with a runway that runs the whole length of the island. As a result, Dharavandhoo serves as Baa Atoll's transportation hub.
