Location

Passage du Soleil is a stunning natural attraction located on Praslin Island in the Seychelles. This narrow waterway runs between two large granite boulders and opens up to a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean. The name "Passage du Soleil" translates to "passage of the sun" in English, and it's a fitting name given the sun's rays that reflect off the water and light up the entire area.

Praslin Island is the second-largest island in the Seychelles, and it's known for its lush tropical forests, white sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters. The island is also home to several nature reserves, including the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that's famous for its Coco de Mer palm trees, which are endemic to the Seychelles.

To get to Passage du Soleil, visitors can take a short hike through the forest from the nearby Anse Lazio beach. The hike is not too challenging and takes around 20 minutes to complete. As visitors approach the narrow waterway, they will be greeted by the sound of crashing waves and the sight of the sun shining through the gap between the boulders.

Once you reach the end of the path, you'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the turquoise waters that stretch out before you. You can take a refreshing swim in the ocean or relax on the small beach area next to the waterway.

Passage du Soleil is also a popular spot for snorkeling, as the clear waters are home to a variety of marine life. Visitors can spot colorful fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional reef shark. The best time to go snorkeling is during the calm months between October and May when the water is clear and calm.
