Ali Shameem Takes the Helm as Resort Manager at Kudadoo Maldives Private Island

Ali Shameem, a seasoned professional in the Maldivian tourist sector, has been chosen to serve as the island's new resort manager. Shameem has over 20 years of experience in the hotel sector, and his story of hard work and determination led him to success.

Shameem began working at Soneva Gili in 2002 as a F&B waiter. With hard effort and a hunger for knowledge, he made his way up the ladder. In the end, he rose to the position of Butler Supervisor, and in 2015, he joined Anantara Kihavah Villas as the Assistant Front Office Manager.

Shameem's interest in astronomy also had a big impact on his professional life. He studied under eminent astronomers including Massimo Tarenghi, Parag Mahajani, and Giovanni Benjamin. He even had the honour of getting to know Buzz Aldrin in 2010 and learning about the universe from the second person to walk on the moon.

Shameem's perseverance and hard work were rewarded when he established an observatory in Soneva Fushi and became the first and only Maldives to market stargazing. This change enhanced the entire guest experience at the tourist attraction and was a financial success.

Shameem remarked of his new position, "I always wanted to operate a hotel. One day, I wanted to manage a resort or work as a general manager. He wants Kudadoo Private Island to be the benchmark resort in the Maldives, offering visitors the height of luxury.
