Begona Rodrigo, a Michelin-starred chef, will host a pop-up at Le Meridien Maldives

Begona Rodrigo, a celebrated chef with a Michelin star, will present a special pop-up at Le Meridien Maldives this Easter to mark the opening of their new Restaurant Riviera Tapas & Bar.

The culinary programme at Le Meridien Maldives begins on April 7 with Chef Begona of the Valencian restaurant La Salita, who won the first season of Top Chef Spain and was crowned the finest cook in the Valencian Community.

She will provide two unique dinners with customised tasting menus and an evening of Petit Plates as part of her Spanish gastronomic experience for guests staying at the opulent resort in the Indian Ocean. Scallops, Sea Lettuce & Cream of Pine Nuts, Parsnip Carbonara, Kimchi & Pork Belly, and Strawberries, Yogurt, Yuzu & Ginger are just a few of the mouthwatering dishes on her creative tasting menu.

Also, Chef Begona will hold a unique cooking workshop where attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the skilled chef how to prepare a variety of dishes including paella while also obtaining useful insider knowledge and advice.

"I am excited to introduce the cuisine of my native country to the Maldives and delight customers to meals rich with Valencian flavours while also showing visitors how to prepare dishes from the Mediterranean, including the renowned paella." She remarked.

Riviera Tapas & Bar, which recently debuted at Le Meridien Maldives, was created to celebrate long summers and was inspired by the busy boulevards of southern Spain. A taste of Catalonia is available at the seashore restaurant in the form of Petit Plates that celebrate Spain's vibrant culinary scene.

Guests may take advantage of a special dine-and-stay package, comprising a delicious 6-course tasting menu for two plus buffet breakfast, at Chef Begona's Easter Delights pop up from April 7 to 10.
