Coco Collection celebrates women shaping hospitality in Maldives
To honour International Women’s Day, Coco Collection is highlighting the inspiring contributions that Coco Bodu Hithi and Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu have made through their women employees. This initiative continues the Group’s ongoing commitment to empowering women and recognises the important role women play in shaping the future of hospitality in the Maldives.
At both properties, female team members demonstrate leadership through innovative leadership, passion and creativity while delivering memorable guest experiences and contributing to sustainability, community engagement and creating an inclusive workplace culture.
At Coco Bodu Hithi, women are redefining the luxury hospitality experience through leadership; guest services; culinary arts; spa; and resort operations. Each female employee brings their unique expertise to create an environment in which guests feel welcomed, cared for and inspired during their stay.
Coco Bodu Hithi also celebrates women who have broken through traditionally male-dominated obstacles and have gained confidence in leading departments and mentoring emerging professionals entering the hospitality industry. The areas they have impacted range from guest relations and culinary arts to spa and wellness to resort operations. There is a strong combination of creativity, technical skills and passion in all female employees that enhance the overall island experience for guests.
Dini Utami spoke about the journey as something that creates both a physical and emotional experience for people. As women in leadership roles, we use our passion, intuition, and commitment to inspire our teams to take care of the guests leaving them feeling refreshed.
Through mentoring and professional development, we provide opportunities for women to develop into leaders at the resort and create a collaborative and inclusive culture.
In honour of March 8th and this year's International Woman's Day theme, "Give to gain," the resort has put together a number of activities that promote creativity and empowerment as a special experience for guests. Some examples of these activities are 25% off of dive adventures, encouraging guests to enjoy the beautiful marine life of the Maldives Times, or the ability to participate in traditional henna art, and enjoying a romantic dinner on the beach under the pergola with gourmet food and ocean views.
The Her Wellness Journey at Coco Cocoa Island Spa offers a restorative wellness programme that helps to restore balance to the body, mind, and spirit. Each guest will receive a complimentary revitalising facial mask, a cup of soothing herbal tea, and 20% off of spa product retail items from March 1-15, 2026.
At the same time, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu is a resort that bases everything on being sustainable and environmentally friendly. The resort is located in the UNESCO Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve and has committed to taking conduct to cover the area’s distinct marine ecosystem through conservation conditioning.
platoon members who are women are involved in marine conservation programs and help with systems to regenerate coral and reduce waste from the resort, which preserves the natural beauty of the Maldives. They also work to produce long- term enterprise and make connections to the original community, beyond diurnal operations of the resort.

The resort works nearly with the Olive Ridley Project which focuses on guarding and rehabilitating ocean turtles while conducting marine exploration to increase the populations of the risked turtle species. The womanish sustainability platoon works with the Olive Ridley Project to educate and give hands- on participation to help in guarding risked turtles while tutoring the guests to interact with the ocean in a sustainable manner.
