Appointment of Madura Liyanaguruge as Bar Manager at Joy Island Maldives by Cocoon Collection
The Cocoon Collection is making an announcement on the appointment of Madura Arundaka Liyanaguruge as Bar Manager at the Joy Island Maldives, from July 2026. As Bar Manager, Liyanaguruge’s role will involve overseeing the bar operations at the resort. Liyanaguruge will ensure that there is an excellent delivery of services at the bars.
Liyanaguruge has been serving as Assistant Bar Manager at Cocoon Collection Maldives since 2025. The reason behind his appointment to the well-deserved position lies in his commitment and leadership qualities. Before working for Joy Island Maldives, he worked as Assistant Beverage Manager at Villa Haven Maldives. He has also previously held the positions of Bar Supervisor at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo and at Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, both located in Maldives and Israel. In addition, he worked as a bartender at One&Only Reethi Rah and Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas after he began his hospitality career at Kanuhura Maldives.Liyanaguruge has extensive experience of working in a number of famous luxury resorts which will make him proficient in bar operations, beverage management, and guest services and will help him to manage a team effectively.
Joy Island Maldives is a luxury all inclusive island resort, located in North Male Atoll, only 40 minutes by speedboat away from Velana International Airport.
