Discover Bhutan's culture like never before on the six-night Historical Odysseys itinerary, which immerses guests in the country's Buddhist culture. The tour includes four days of guided walks around the Paro Valley, two days in the less-visited Punakha Valley, which contains some of Bhutan's most iconic temples, and a traditional butter lamp ceremony, a spiritual blessing that symbolises the eradication of darkness and ignorance with wisdom and light.
During the trip, experience spectacular drives, unique nature walks, and fascinating monastery visits, including a hike through the verdant Paro Valley to the Taktsang 'Tiger's Nest' Monastery, one of Bhutan's most important pieces of architecture. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with young monks at Chorten Ningpo, a 17th-century educational institution; walk through farmhouses to reach Chimmi Lhakhang, an ancient fertility temple; and enjoy spectacular Himalayan views from the Dochu La mountain pass.
