BEOND, a leisure airline that flies only business class, has announced the initial itineraries for its launch later this year. The carrier plans to launch its initial flights with two connections in Europe and one in the Middle East using an Airbus A319 with just 44 lie-flat seats. The European routes will begin service in November 2023 from Munich and Zurich to Male in the Maldives.
The A319 is unable to continue on to the Maldives from either Zurich or Munich. As a result, Riyadh will be the location of the flight's refueling. Future connections will be created to Delhi, Mumbai, Paris, Vienna, and even locations in the Far East, according to a route plan supplied by the airline. Hanoi, Vietnam, used as a stopover for refueling on the way to cities like Osaka and Seoul.
Tero Taskila, CEO of BEOND, told the media that the market the airline is targeting is thought to be rapidly expanding. We've all noticed a substantial spike in premium travel, he said. According to all European airlines, it is currently the leisure travelers, not the corporate travelers, who are occupying the business and first class cabins. The market sector with the fastest growth is luxury leisure travel. We are using a highly sophisticated airplane to tap into that one.
