CROSSROADS Maldives is committed to promoting global sustainable tourism initiatives through various CSR activities. This includes organizing educational tours for local schools. The sustainable development committee at CROSSROADS ensures that field trips are conducted monthly, reaching as many schools as possible. These trips not only provide students with valuable experiences but also cultivate their interest in the tourism industry, a key driver of the Maldives’ economy. During these comprehensive tours, students have the opportunity to explore various departments at the destination and participate in Q&A sessions to gain insights into the workings of a tourism establishment. In addition to coordinating field trips to the destination, the CROSSROADS Maldives team also visits local schools to interact with students and allocate funds towards enhancing school facilities.
CROSSROADS Maldives hosts a Street Market at its retail area, The Marina@CROSSROADS, in addition to school visits. Each month, various local enterprises, individuals, and start-up businesses are invited to present and advertise their products to both local visitors and hotel guests from around the globe. This venue provides a valuable opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to grow their businesses. To enhance the event, CROSSROADS features local artists and performers to generate a vibrant atmosphere at the Street Market. This recurring event has significantly boosted the visibility of many enterprises.
