For the forthcoming two-day celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a significant holiday for the neighbourhood, CROSSROADS Maldives is preparing. Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month during which Muslims around the world fast from dawn to sunset, is anticipated to occur on April 22, 2023, subject to the official moon sighting.

Visitors to CROSSROADS Maldives can look forward to a wide variety of fun events during the Eid celebrations. The Crossroads resort's in-house guests and day visitors to The Marina will be able to partake in a variety of exclusive feasts, cultural performances, and traditional activities during this year's celebrations. The activities will last two days, from April 22 to 23, 2023, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to take part in the fun.

Day 1

Day 1

Visitors will have the chance to experience a breathtaking cultural extravaganza on the first day of Eid in the shape of the Maali dance, a traditional dance that has been passed down from generation to generation. Men dressed in traditional attire conduct this unusual dance with legendary figures that are modelled after African tribal dancers.

The Maali Parade is set to start at the Hard Rock Hotel Maldives at 16:00 hours and end with a cultural Eid show at the SAii Beach Club. It will then continue across the Musikee bridge. Live performances of traditional music known as Boduberu and the joyful water fight known as Fenkulhi will be featured in the presentation.

The much-anticipated Street Market at The Marina, which takes its cue from the vibrant Asian weekend street markets and has a variety of vendors selling freshly prepared dishes and diverse commodities, will take place at CROSSROADS Maldives on the second day. The Street Market at The Marina, which was originally announced earlier this month, will now take place every Friday, offering a special chance for all registered businesses to advertise and sell their goods with no-cost stalls.

The Street Market has been a smashing success since its start in 2020, offering a useful platform for small companies and budding artists from across the nation.

We at CROSSROADS Maldives cherish upholding cultural customs, and we are happy to share this happy occasion with all of our visitors. The Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations used to be reserved for our staff members, but over the past two years, we have opened them up to all of our visitors, including those who live in Crossroads, visit The Marina for the day, and stay at Resorts. In addition to fostering a sense of community, we think that this inclusive approach to recognising ethnic traditions also builds a greater understanding and appreciation of other cultures. Tolga Unan, Managing Director, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives and CROSSROADS Marina, stated, "We are happy to provide our visitors an opportunity to explore the rich cultural history of the Maldives.
