Valentina Sobeshchuk has been named as the new Director of Sales & Marketing at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi. Valentina brings with her a strong foundation of dynamic and result-driven hospitality expertise along with a thorough grasp of the luxury market and the UHNW customer, having worked in the sales and marketing departments of some of the most recognizable hotels and brands in the world. Valentina will oversee the resort's international sales and marketing initiatives from her base in Dubai. She will also develop relationships with both upcoming and seasoned luxury tour operators, develop and implement a strategic sales plan, direct the sales and marketing team, and seek out new business prospects.
In the premium hospitality sector, Valentina has over 12 years of sales and marketing expertise. Most recently, she served as director of sales and marketing at the W Dubai - The Palm. Prior to joining the Fairmont Maldives team, Sirru Fen Fushi held important management and director positions, managing the sales teams at organizations like Rixos Hotels UAE and Mövenpick, obtaining a wealth of knowledge in the hotel industry on a global scale. She never settles for less than the best, expanding on her already extensive skill set as she prepares to earn her MBA in Finance at Middlesex University Dubai in April 2024.
Following her success in the reopening of the Rixos Bab Al Bahr during the pandemic, Sobeshchuk won Salesperson of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards in 2020. The property sold out one week before opening as a result of the campaigns created by her and the team, which subsequently led to a significant increase in revenue and a 200% increase in sales from the local market. Valentina hopes for this degree of success at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi after increasing overall income at her properties from US$16 million to $30 million over the course of a year.
'I'm thrilled to be joining the incredibly brilliant staff at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, and it couldn't come at a better time as the resort prepares to prepare for an exciting festive period,' says Valentina Sobeshchuk. I look forward to leading the resort's sales and marketing team toward a genuinely prosperous future by bringing my experience, tenacity, and passion to the organization.
The Maldives' ministry of tourism reports that the country has welcomed over 220,574 visitors so far in 2023, a 31% increase compared to the same period in 2022*. The new appointment thus comes at an exciting time for the resort. The Beach Tented Villas, which are brand-new for this year and offer a conscious castaway experience particular to the island, are where Fairmont Maldives welcomes guests to stay. Guests may also participate in projects at the Sustainability Lab to turn trash into magic. The resort has 120 villas, each with a private pool, four restaurants and bars, an interactive kids club, an art studio, tennis courts, water sports, and a Fairmont Spa & fitness center, giving guests enough to choose from.
