India's GoAir has temporarily ceased operations after previously operating flights to the Maldives. Since the start of last month, ticket sales have also stopped.
Budget Indian airline GoAir used to provide nonstop service to the Maldives from Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru. GoAir's operations in the Maldives have been halted since April, according to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
Due to operational challenges brought on by the company's growing debt, which is currently around $800 million (MVR 12.3 billion), GoAir decided to halt operations. The corporation has already made an announcement regarding its bankruptcy in relation to this matter.
GoAir has also told the media that, despite the fact that bankruptcy proceedings have been started, they are striving to find a solution and hope to get back to business as soon as possible.
Prior to its closure, GoAir operated flights to 26 domestic and seven foreign locations inside India. The firm started operations in 2005.
