M. Hussain Shihab At IHG Hotels & Resorts Maldives

Mohamed Hussain Shihab has been promoted to Cluster Director of Human Resources at InterContinental® Maldives Maamunagau Resort & Holiday Hotel Kandooma Maldives, effective 15 March 2023.

As of right now, Shihab is the youngest Maldivian to hold the position of Cluster Director of Human Resources. He has more than 11 years of experience in this industry. Shihab has acquired professional experience through his studies and employment in a number of nations, including the Middle East, Sri Lanka, and the United States.

On July 17, 2021, Shihab began working for InterContinental® Maldives Maamunagau Resort. He brings ten years of experience in human resources from working for major international brands like Minor Hotels & Resorts, IHG, Centara Hotels and Resorts, and Hilton. His main areas of focus over the course of his last 18 months with InterContinental have included revitalising colleague engagement initiatives, aligning HR best practises, assisting HODs and leaders with manning and recruitment, and aligning salaries and benefits within the Maldives hospitality industry.

The team is hoping that Shihab will excel in his new position and continue to coach and develop his coworkers, building a committed Human Resources team across both locations. This opened the door for many of his colleagues to experience professional achievement.
