The northernmost private island resort in the Maldives, JA Manafaru, on Haa Alif Atoll, has appointed Jason Kruse as General Manager, according to JA Resorts & Hotels.
Jason began his career in the international hospitality and tourist industry with over 20 years of experience, holding prestigious senior leadership positions across a variety of properties in his native Australia.
Jason most recently served as the Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences' General Manager for three and a half years, revitalizing the visitor experience at the five-star resort. He was in charge of the Six Senses' pre-opening team in Fiji before joining Amilla. Jason has further Maldives experience thanks to his six years spent working at Kurumba Maldives at Universal Resort. Additionally, he held the position of general manager at The Breezes Resort in Bali, Indonesia, and Casa Del Mar in Langkawi, Malaysia.
The present staff of talented hoteliers at JA Manafaru will benefit from Jason's wealth of experience in luxury resorts around the world, especially island destinations. This will help to further the island's reputation for providing first-rate services and distinctive guest experiences.
Along with his wife Victoria, who has joined the business as a Sustainability and Environmental advisor, Jason is likewise passionate about bringing more environmentally friendly practices to the island. The couple will concentrate on growing JA Manafaru's core brand identity as an authentic Maldivian retreat, with the help of the island team, according to Nelson Gibb, Group CEO, Group Development - JA Resorts & Hotels.
The beautiful natural island of JA Manafaru is unique as the most remote of all Maldivian resorts, giving Indian Ocean seclusion coupled with a five-star boutique experience. It has just 84 beach and water villas. It is about 10 minutes away from Hoarafushi Airport, which is accessible from Velana International Airport via a spectacular 50-minute premium direct trip.
