W Maldives & Sheraton Maldives Go Dark for Earth Hour 2023

In order to spread awareness about the value of environmental sustainability and lowering carbon footprints, W Maldives and Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa recently undertook initiatives and activations to mark Earth Hour on March 25, 2023. The Maldives resorts in the Marriott Bonvoy network are dedicated to minimising their negative environmental effects and fostering environmentally friendly travel habits. These programmes support ethical tourism methods and are a part of a larger commitment to environmental stewardship. The resorts invite visitors to consider their environmental impact and get involved in building a more sustainable future.

With an oceanfront fire grill meal, complete with unplugged music, premium steaks, Maldivian lobster, and seafood direct from the charcoal grill, W Maldives provided guests with an amazing experience. It was a special and unforgettable party, with the guests enjoying dessert toasting over a bonfire under the starlight.

Beyond the hour, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa shut down the restaurant lights for 90 minutes and set up a 60+ candle-lit sign at Anchorage. The resort's restaurants also served a unique beverage named "The Black Out." The Earth Hour movement served as the inspiration for this cocktail, and the resort's dedication to sustainability can be seen in the locally produced components it uses.
