Maldivian Chef Maha Naseer Wears Crown of Top Master Chef at World Top Gourmet Awards 2026
The Maldivian chef Maha Naseer has received the Top Outstanding Master Chef Award of Maldives Cuisine in the World Top Gourmet Awards 2026 which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 22 October 2026. This accolade will highlight her achievements in the culinary world and will help her to draw international attention to the rich cuisine of Maldives. The awards ceremony was held at the Andaman Grand Ballroom where renowned chefs, representatives of restaurants and professionals from the global food & beverages industry came to participate in the event. The winners of the 2026 edition of World Top Gourmet Awards were selected from a list of 108 chefs, restaurants, food brands and culinary professionals. Maha Naseer is a Board Director of Visit Maldives Corporation and also serves as the Continental Judge of the World Association of Chefs' Societies (Worldchefs).
The Master Chef Society of the World honored Naseer with the designation of Master Chef in 2022 due to her achievements as a professional. This is the latest accomplishment that Naseer has acquired on her culinary path.Founded by World Gourmet Malaysia in 2017, World Top Gourmet Awards aims at honoring professionals and companies working in the field of food and beverages. These awards aim at acknowledging culinary professionals who make a contribution to the development of the industry.
This award proves the increasing international recognition of chefs and professionals of Maldives. In addition, this gives the possibility of presenting the specific culinary traditions of the country characterized by the use of seafood, coconuts, spices, and other dishes linked to the islands' culture. This award brings a great contribution to the international gastronomy industry and to Maldivian cuisine in particular.
