The millionth visitor to the Maldives for 2023 has arrived in person today!
Anton Pavlov was this year's one millionth visitor to the Maldives. Officials from the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), and Maldives Immigration met him when he arrived at Velana International Airport (VIA).
The country has outperformed expectations, and the tourism ministry said that this milestone has been accomplished ahead of schedule. Initially, the agency estimated that the country would welcome one million tourists in July.
In light of this achievement, the government's lofty goal to draw 1.8 million tourists in 2023 is now more feasible than ever. The daily stream of travelers arriving, along with the anticipated increase during the busiest months of the year, November and December, point to a highly optimistic view for meeting and possibly exceeding this goal.
