Minor Hotels has achieved a remarkable success in the annual ranking of top hotels by the Travel + Leisure magazine, after its ten hotels were nominated to the 2026 T+L 500 awards. One of these hotels is a luxury resort that belongs to the group and is located in the Maldives. Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, as one of the best resorts in the country, received recognition due to the beauty of its overwater villas, underwater dining options, and its exclusive location in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll.
Thus, once again, the status of the Maldives as a top global travel destination in terms of luxury was confirmed, as world-famous hotels are constantly nominated to such international awards as T+L 500. Minor Hotels Group, managing over 640 hotels around the globe in both operations and development, has achieved the highest result in the history of its participation in the T+L 500 list. As the lead region, Asia had the most featured properties, which include five Anantara resorts. Besides the Maldivian cuisine, there were resorts in Vietnam and Sri Lanka that were recognized as well. Dillip Rajakarier, the CEO of Minor International, underscored the importance of this accomplishment by saying that the ten featured properties prove the extent and caliber of their luxury resort portfolio. It proves our ability to maintain our standards of excellence regardless of the destination.
The T+L 500 rankings are based on the results of the 2025 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, featuring hotels and resorts that continually receive commendations from the readers for outstanding service and guest experience. The current year’s listing is published in the May issue of Travel + Leisure magazine.
