Through its Vocational Education & Training (VET) center, which is a component of the Fari Islands Campus and in collaboration with the famous hospitality management school, Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), Patina Maldives, Fari Islands celebrated the graduation of the property's first cohort of 12 students. The students who graduated from the program successfully completed a six-month "Foundation Module" in "Food & Beverage Service" and "Hotel Foundation Certificate." Before graduating with a Professional Diploma, students will complete two additional six-month intermediate and advanced modules to supplement their course work.
With regard to the initial group of graduates, Antonio Saponara, General Manager of Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, remarked, "We are immensely proud of our first cohort of students and are excited to watch their continued growth. We are dedicated to offering a rewarding road to success for those looking to pursue their full potential in the field of hospitality management in partnership with EHL, and we eagerly anticipate fostering the program's further development.
The three-year programs will result in internationally recognized certificates provided by the Maldives Qualification Authority and signed and issued by the EHL, giving local talent a practical, respectable substitute for hotel schools in Europe. The modular course curriculum combines 'on the job' training with classroom learning and examinations using content created in Switzerland.
The availability of VET courses and the sponsorship program further demonstrate Patina Maldives' dedication to finding and keeping the greatest local talent while fostering careers and providing team members with the chance to realize their full potential. When the program resumes classes in June 2023, it will aim to grow and welcome more participants from both resorts.
