Wine Tasting with Patrick Jacklin at Constance Moofushi Maldives
On March 9th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Constance Moofushi will present its first wine tasting experience with Patrick Jacklin, a prominent German winemaker. The exclusive event will be held under the stars on the picturesque sandbanks just before dinner and will include a sampling of biodynamic wines served with delicious canapés to create an unforgettable culinary journey in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
The goal of the event is to educate guests about the philosophy and unique qualities of biodynamic wines. Jacklin will demonstrate the variety of different biodynamic wines available from his family's winery, Weingut Heitlinger, by providing details about the vineyard practices that help create these wines, including methods of craft, terroir, etc.
In addition to providing the unique guest experience at Constance Moofushi, Jacklin will also be conducting a dedicated masterclass for the resort’s sommeliers, allowing them to learn more about biodynamic viticulture and sustainable winemaking processes. The focus of this masterclass will be on the principles of biodynamic farming and vineyard management as well as the changing methods of producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines.

Patrick Jacklin comes from the Kraichgau region of Baden, in Germany where he was born into a family of viticulture professionals. Patrick and his brother Philip represent the next generation of the family's estate. Their philosophy blends respect for the family’s rich traditions with modern techniques such as biodynamic farming, and their influence is shaping the winery’s evolution.
Weingut Heitlinger in Baden region of Germany, located at Tiefenbach in Östringen, is one of the foremost wineries in Germany that produces organic and biodynamic wines. In addition to producing high-quality wines, Weingut Heitlinger is also a member of the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (VDP), an elite association of the best wine estates in Germany which has a very high standard for quality of wines while still making sure their members are true to their local area with respect to the region they are from.
