Collaboration between Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands and Maison Ruinart for art inspired festivities
This season Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands offers guests "A Canvas of Festive Wonder," the magical experience in which the pure white color meets the joy of colors, and traditional holidays of Christmas transform into an art experience. Festivities of 2026-2027 season are held within the exclusive artist residency, that takes place in collaboration with the renowned French artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet and Maison Ruinart.
The period from December 18 to 23, 2026 is dedicated to the residence of the artist at the hotel, during which he holds artistic encounters, installations and experiences, marking the beginning of festivities. Inspired by the play of the light on the islands of Maldives, by the beauty of the underwater world and by the tropical flora and fauna of the island, the artist transforms into another world, rich in the expressive colors and shapes and surprising artistic interventions. The collaboration starts with the creation of the Christmas tree and other decorations, with the gifts' edition and the full-scale transformation of Beach Shack. The installations remain active until April 2027.The residency takes place in cooperation with Maison Ruinart and is based on the interaction of art, Champagne, and the French art of living. Visitors will have a chance to explore the creative process of the artist through individual studio visits and classes, as well as tastings of Ruinart wines and two gourmet dinners.
A Festive Story Told Through Art and Colour
Inspired by the architecture and environment of the resort, A Canvas of Festive Wonder brings a modern twist to the idea of a white Christmas. White is the color of serenity and new possibilities, whereas the colorful pieces of art by Alexandre Benjamin Navet add excitement, dynamism, and fantasy. The story of the festivity unfolds across the island, making guests rediscover all those places they know from another point of view. The celebration of the season is inspired by the idea of the Celebration of Life.
Festive Season of Celebrations and Events on the Island
The festivities start from December 22 with the Christmas Tree Lighting and Cocktail held at Beach Shack featuring the unique creation of Alexandre Benjamin Navet in the presence of the artist himself. The night continues with the Ruinart Artist Dinner – a refined dinner dedicated to art and Champagne. December 24 will see a Christmas Eve Cocktail leading up to the Gala Dinner at EAU Bar that is set to impress guests with its gourmet dining and entertainment against the backdrop of stunning scenery. The next day, December 25, guests will be able to celebrate Christmas with the arrival of Santa Claus over the resort’s pool, as well as enjoy a Christmas Concert and, the day after, a festive Ritz Kids Fashion Show will take place. December 31 will mark the final event of the year, as the resort is preparing the spectacular beachfront New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner. A night full of culinary delights and festive entertainment will mark the culmination of the festivities. The festive theme will carry on till the Orthodox Christmas Gala Dinner of January 6.
