Siyam World Maldives, embracing a maverick road and aiming to be the most innovative product to grace the Maldives tourism sector, seeks to redefine luxury and adventure by providing unmatched experiences and breaking new ground in this paradisiacal archipelago.
Siyam World and Redbull Maldives have partnered to exhibit the world champions of paragliding, Rafael Goberna and Horacio Llorens, as they performed breathtaking exploits with paramotors from July 31 to August 3, 2023, as part of Siyam World's dedication to pushing limits. With the help of this innovative alliance, aerial spectacles could reach thrilling new heights and appeal to both luxury and adventure travelers. The most skilled paragliders in the world were on display before the eyes of Siyam World's prestigious guests, providing an exciting show.
Horacio Llorens, a stunning five-time world champion of paragliding, and Rafael Goberna, a renowned world champion of synchronized paragliding, enthralled the crowd with an amazing display of talent and courage. They performed breathtaking antics during their astounding performance, including synchronizing landing on top of two moving traditional Dhonis from the Maldives and doing unmatched aerobatics while flying over Siyam World. The audience was in awe at these incredible achievements, mesmerized by the sheer skill of these elite paragliders.
The current Acro Synchro World Champion from Brazil is Rafael Goberna, a world champion in synchronized paragliding. At only 12 years old, Rafael entered the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the youngest paragliding pilots in the world and the youngest in Brazil. Goberna flew over Iguazu Falls, one of the biggest waterfalls in the world, in December 2016 and splashed down for a water landing at the Iguazu River.
Aerobatic paragliding was invented by Horacio Llorens, a five-time world champion. After leaping from a helicopter at a height of 19,700 feet (6000 meters) over the Mayan ruins in Guatemala, Llorens broke the world record for infinite tumbling in 2012 by completing 568 revolutions while enduring 6G with each turn.
A little two-stroke engine mounted to the pilot's back expertly powers the Paramotor, a spectacular motorized paraglider that functions as a powered flying apparatus. Starting with a running start, the pilot then engages the thrust of the paramotor with a hand-held throttle, causing it to gain lift and soar gracefully into the air.
