Sjefke Jansen appointed General Manager at Anantara

Sjefke Jansen has been appointed as the next general manager of Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, effective April 1, 2023. The award-winning Sjefke, who is in charge of managing the daily operations of the opulent island property, can count on four decades of practical knowledge in the hospitality sector.

"I am excited to be participating in one of MINOR's flagship and most recognizable hotels in the Maldives. I had the impulse to reestablish contact with this alluring location and its appealing nature. That was like returning home. Added Jansen. "I intend to keep expanding Anantara Kihavah's legacy. I will be concentrating on how important it is to create real and pleasurable visitor experiences, along with my enthusiastic and committed team, he continued.

Sjefke was previously the general manager of Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, where he oversaw the establishment's achievement of a leading position for 5 years in a row in a very competitive environment. Nonetheless, his spectacular career had humble beginnings; in 1983, he was hired as a kitchen trainee in Germany, which was his first position in the field.

Sjefke has climbed the ranks of the hospitality industry and now possesses a plethora of knowledge, including numerous operational positions at hotels in Germany, Australia, South Africa, and Singapore. Before coming to The Oberoi in Mauritius in 2006 and advancing his career with his first General Manager job, Sjefke worked in the Maldives in 2002 when he accepted his first Resort Manager position at the One & Only Reethi Rah Resort and Spa. Sjefke relocated to Le Touessrok, Mauritius, in 2010, where he worked as General Manager for an additional four years until taking a similar role at the Belmond Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg, Russia.
