Tennis champions Daniil Medvedev, Paula Badosa, and Donna Vekic will grace the St. Regis Maldives Resort
St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is set to hold an exclusive edition of The Astor Club Soiree Tennis Series in partnership with LUX Tennis as it welcomes three of the most experienced tennis athletes, Daniil Medvedev, Paula Badosa, and Donna Vekic for a tennis residency from October 26 to November 30, 2026. This special edition tennis program, held at the Maldives' best location, will entail one-on-one coaching sessions, group clinics, junior camps, guest visits among others, allowing the participants a chance to engage directly with some of the most famous figures in tennis. The Astor Club Soiree Tennis Series will kick off with Donna Vekic from October 29 to November 1, 2026. As one of the most successful Croatian tennis players, Vekić has earned five WTA singles titles and has a career high ranking of World No. 17. Recent accomplishments of Vekić include her winning a silver medal at Paris 2024 Olympic Games, reaching the semifinals of Wimbledon, and winning Queen's Club Championships in 2026. Celebrated for her hard-hitting play style and fierce competition spirit, Vekić will offer her expertise during various guest sessions.
During November 13 to 14, 2026, the resort will feature the presence of one of the most motivating players in the WTA Tour, namely, Paula Badosa. Badosa is known for her success in becoming the French Open Girls' champion in 2015 and for winning the World No. 2 position in 2022. In spite of having been through various health-related injuries, she was able to get back on track and make it to the list of the top tennis players. This was achieved through winning the title at the Washington Open, becoming a finalist at the US Open in 2024, and reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 2025. Through a variety of coaching and training sessions, guests will be able to meet one of the most persistent tennis players.The highlight of this program occurs from November 26 to 27, 2026 and consists of the residency of Daniil Medvedev, the former ATP World No. 1 player and one of the prominent champions of his generation. He is considered to be one of the most accomplished athletes in the modern tennis world.
