Velana International Airport Selected as Host for the Air Service World Congress 2024

The famous Air Service World Congress 2024 will be held at Velana International Airport (VIA), according to a statement from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). As the first time the Maldives will host this prestigious international event, this is a historical turning point.

With the handover to Velana International Airport, the Air Service World Congress 2023 event held in Oakland, San Francisco Bay Area from July 17–19, 2023, came to a successful finish. The attendees were greeted by Mr. Mahjoob Shujau, MD and CEO, who also invited them to explore the Maldives' aviation industry and the considerable improvements made at Velana International Airport.

The upcoming conference, which is slated to take place in July 2024, is anticipated to draw international participants from the route development community and serve as a forum to talk about the development of international air services in the future.
