Amilla Maldives Resort and Residence, one of the best honeymoon hotels, becomes the world's first resort to offer self-service wedding vow renewals. Amilla Maldives is pioneering a self-service wedding vows location, The Knot, in response to an increase in demand for micro-weddings with few to no guests. In what is believed to be a world first, couples can now renew their vows without the assistance of a celebrant.

Traditional wedding vows have been re-written to work with only the couple speaking in turns, and a permanent wedding arch has been built on the beach, complete with a phone stand, in case the couple wants to record or live stream the special occasion. Wedding vows were carved into wooden panels in case the couple needed them. Six wooden benches have been placed on the beach in case there are a few guests.

Couples interested in participating need only bring whatever they want to wear for the special occasion - or they may already be on vacation at Amilla Maldives and decide to renew their wedding vows together when they see the spectacular Beach Wedding venue. If the couple decides they also want decorations, champagne, or a cake, the resort's events team can quickly arrange these extras.

The idea arose from a growing number of requests from guests at Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences for boutique weddings with no or only a few guests in attendance. This trend is part of a larger global trend for private small destination weddings.
