During World Laughter Day, Sun Siyam Resorts understands how to put a smile on their guests' cheeks and enrich their bespoke programme of private-island experiences with outstanding comic performances by renowned stand-up comedians Ali Al Sayed, Mina Liccione, Amr Elassal, and Imah Dumagay.

Laughter is the best medicine and undoubtedly draws people from all over the world together, thus to commemorate World Laughter Day this year, Siyam World Maldives has set the stage for a comedy performance by the incredible comic team Ali Al Sayed and Mina Liccione.

Ali Al Sayed is a well-known comedian in the industry, and his lightning-quick wit and rapport with audiences have allowed him to perform in numerous shows on the iconic and historic Comic Strip Live in New York - Headlining in Caroline's on Broadway, performing in the Gotham Comedy Club, and performing in the New York American Arab Comedy Festival. Rolling Stones ME named him the "funniest person of the year," while Toastmasters USA named him the "most influential comedian of the year" in 2011.

Mina Liccione is a New York-based award-winning performer, comedian, and Arts Professor. She has toured internationally and shared the stage with legendary stand-up comedians such as Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias, Michael Winslow, and Judah Friedlander. She can currently be seen on all three seasons of Comedy Central Arabia's & Comedy Central Presents...Stand-up TV Show, which airs Sunday nights on OSN.

Mina received the prize for "Best One Woman Show" at the WOW Festival in San Francisco, was named one of the "Funniest People in 2012" by Rolling Stone Magazine, is a two-time nominee for "Best Female Personality" by Ahlan! Magazine, and was named "Most Inspiring Woman" in the UAE by Philly Arabia.

On the night of World Laughter Day, Sun Siyam Olhuveli Maldives will host comedy pair Amr Elassal and Imah Dumagay for a joyful and comedic celebration.

Amr Elassal resolved to take over the comedy scene and hasn't looked back since. His humorous act and ability to connect with his audience by sharing his funny thoughts on the absurdity of everyday life have propelled him to fame. During the Dubai Comedy Festival 2022, Amr opened for globally known comedian and actress Luisa Omielan and shared the stage with Ahmed Ahmed.

Imah Dumagay is the GCC's first Filipina comic. She's a humorous force to be reckoned with, and she's been a fixture on the UAE comedy scene since 2018. An award-winning stand-up comic who abandoned the monotony of a 9-to-5 job to fully immerse himself in the world of comedy. With four full-length solo comedy shows under her belt, all of which were hosted at the famed The Theatre Mall of the Emirates, she is unquestionably a comic storm that will leave you on the floor laughing.
