Patina Maldives' Most Sustainable Christmas Tree
Recently unveiled for this Maldivian New Year for 2024, the world's most sustainable Christmas tree by Patina Maldives, Fari Islands - the fantastic, newly invented holiday creation made exclusively from nature and composed of dried rattans and bamboos so every single element that comes from here will eventually get their second use once Christmas leaves with nothing at the bottom."At Patina Maldives, we believe luxury and sustainability stay can exist harmoniously with each other. And we feel this very strongly through our Christmas tree - just the perfect combination of thoughtful design and natural materials which in turn really create beauty and with that, a positive, enduring impact," said General Manager of Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, Anthony Gill. This would be a minimalist design on a tree of ethos that discusses the issue of balance and harmony with nature; however, such would illustrate the spirit of potential through renewable material in festive flavor with the idea that its ending is celebrated through either being a functional item that aids the resort in implementing their circular economy plan or through artistic representation that provides ornaments. It invites the guest to experience a striking centerpiece of the environment and celebrate the amenity of being able to indulge in celebratory feeling that values like thoughtful designs and sustainability resonate for.One of these sustainability initiatives in Patina Maldives is, such as renewable energy usage, zero-waste kitchens, marine conservation programs, and many more. The luxury hospitality brand, Patina Maldives, had already shown it to go hand in hand with the principles of environmental stewardship since it now introduces the concepts to the traditions of holidays.

This capsule collection is named Aquazzura, launched now with northern Maldives's island JOALI Maldives on the Muravandhoo island. It will be sold in the boutique of Maison de JOALI found on the island. This collection makes up the birth in Italian shores because Edgardo Osorio founder, and creative director he certainly loved the sun, the sea, as well as scuba diving while born here, took it on with Maldives collaboration to produce what looks truly outstanding like something born from another era's earth to ensure, and indeed all done the company's first true joint-venture collaboration. Fresh yet laid-back yet refined and bold, the wearer of these pieces shall be whisked off to this exotic journey. For its inspiration, here the clutch JOALI is derived from the arrival jetty in JOALI Maldives by taking as an inspiration how the ebb and the flow of the ocean establish the tone for that magic time waiting to unfold each night in the Maldives. The turquoise sea that surrounds the JOALI inspires Aquazzura's 'Aqua' blue and her philosophy of infusing infinite joy into this world. Therefore, synergy that can now be visualized and realized through this special capsule is immense. Aquazzura founder and creative director Edgardo Osorio said that "I have been snorkelling in the Maldives a few years ago, and immediately fell under the spell of the vibrant nature and stunning colors of the coral reefs. On my latest visit to JOALI Maldives, I fell again under its spell and this time by beautiful architecture, exceptional service and wellness rituals.". It is such a privilege as an all-out sun-and-sea worshipper devotee that JOALI Maldives decided to collaborate on creating something unique to lead up to the launching of its very first pop-up Aquazzura collection in the Maldives.A few nights, some of them special ones, for a glance of the phenomenal beauty of Aquazzura Casa at JOALI Maldives from 20th December 2024. Mark Eletr - Transforming Kandooma Maldives in 3 Years
Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives recently celebrated the third anniversary of its General Manager, Mark Eletr, who, during his tenure, marked several milestones.Mark is a seasoned hotelier with years of experience working in luxury resorts around the world, who joined the Maldives property in November 2021. Since then, he has achieved several refurbishments, rebranding, and new initiatives. On joining the company, Mark emphasized his role in advancing the resort's evolution with the main emphasis on financial success, environmental stewardship, and employee welfare. One of his accomplishments has been the Surf Corner, which is a hub full of life during the surfing season, upgraded with a fire pit that is the favorite spot for visiting musicians. Over the years, the resort has been able to host some of the best in the industry, including Jimmy Barnes, Delta Goodrem, and Birds of Tokyo. The "Music In Paradise" program will have celebrated its 10th year in 2024. By 2025, artists such as Missy Higgins and The Church are to perform. Mark has operated several projects; among those are staff accommodations constructed from solar-powered units and rolling maintenance plan which will have offset the impacts of Maldivian climate on his operations. His passion for sustainability led to innovative initiatives such as Frond Circles, which convert palm fronds into compost and thereby reduce waste and emissions due to transportation. He also promoted reef conservation, with 100 coral frames added to the waters surrounding the resort, and renewable energy production doubled through the installation of solar panels. In the diving world, Mark brought the first "Dive Free" promotion to the Maldives, providing free dives to certified guests, which has elevated the resort's appeal. His dedication to marine conservation was further underlined when he joined the rescue efforts of a manta ray caught entangled in ghost nets-an experience that inspired further environmental advocacy. He also introduced a 3-bedroom Beach Pool Villa that families and groups can book during his tenure, as well as other sustainable developments like the extension of Chef's Garden and a pilot fish-farm project. In some negative setbacks of his tenure, a wave energy project had to be dropped, though he looks forward to innovations that will make their future look more promising.Talent development is what brings him the most pride, including building the local Maldivian workforce. Mark was also proud to celebrate the promotion of former Resort Manager Shahid Hussain to General Manager at another IHG property and the promotion of Saji Abraham to Assistant General Manager at his current assignment.Mark credits the success of the Kandooma team to collaborative efforts and supportive ownership, saying it is a key driver in keeping the momentum going and fostering innovation within the resort.

Underwater Wonders at Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon
Often known as paradise on earth, the Maldives, beneath its blue waters, contains greater wonder that attracts explorers and adventurers from every part of this world. In fact, marine life abounds in island waters, and scuba diving is one of the premier dive sites in the world, and a great underwater adventure awaits for the traveler. The thing more than an activity in the diving at Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon, it is a passage to the glorious vibrant artwork. Divers are popular in their house reef considered being among the top 100 dive and snorkel places around the world. And such encounters are thrilling and humble: grey reef sharks are gliding along currents; manta rays perform like in waves in hypnotizing beauty. As one guest commented recently, "You can't count all the sharks, too many here," talking about the enormous population inside this pristine ecosystem. The most interesting sea dwellers include the "Tripod," a very rare three-fin turtle, who is accompanied by persistence and appeal that leave one's senses for a long time after being met with him. Adding just a bit more to the wonder is the mesmerizingly moving feather-tailed stingray. Ranging from tiny reef fish to barracudas, and hammerhead sharks occasionally appearing, there is always something extraordinary seen on every dive. The wonders of the sea never end with sunset. There is all one kind of adventure to discover in night diving. Now, there is all-new perspective-or, sometimes nearly black darkness-under which all appears an entirely enchanted underworld; lobsters emerge from rocky shelters, and turtles settle into their nests in all this bioluminescent plankton. It gives a view of the nocturnal rhythm of the ocean, together with its secret but intriguing creatures. For those wanting to stay closer to the surface, snorkelling in Maldives is just as spectacular. Kaleidoscope coral reefs seen with vibrant colors, undulating anemones sway, clownfish dart from their respective homes, and moray eels glide across the sea bed are some of the sights that can be witnessed in the Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts Maldives. This snorkelling tour is taken in such a manner so that people of all ages can be part of such magical experiences.

SAii Lagoon Maldives Earns Gold for Sustainable Tourism
This award of Gold under the Events Industry Council Sustainable Event Standards has been given to the resort. Being a member of the Curio Collection by Hilton, SAii Lagoon Maldives has tied up itself to a set of environmental and social responsibilities, intricately woven in all facets of the operations within the resort.EIC SES Framework: EIC SES ranks a venue in areas of sustainability performance: the climate, water, waste management, diversity, and impact on the social arena. SAii Lagoon Maldives performed well in each of these categories, providing evidence that it does work holistically to deliver not only an environmentally friendly context but also a social-responsible atmosphere for both visitors and members of the surrounding community.Perhaps another essential element of the sustainability strategy of this resort is its water saving and waste reduction. This resort possesses some sort of a sophisticated system of water treatment, so the idea is that the treated wastewater would rather be used for irrigation rather than being consumed fresh water directly. This is one of the key factors that form the strategy in this solid waste management program aimed at the reduction of plastic wastes and urging people to use more biodegradable and recyclable products. In as much as this is about single-use plastics and carbon emissions, it is quite evident that the resort is doing much in reducing the impacts on the environment.Apart from these environmental pursuits, SAii Lagoon Maldives also cares much about the well-being of the locals. It engages and involves local artisans, students, and businesses in sustainable tourism practice for the conservation of island beauty. Facilities where these activities are taking place include the Marine Discovery Centre and the Maldives Discovery Centre, where visitors are able to engage in educational and conservation practices through hands-on activities such as coral planting and interactive heritage tours.SAii Lagoon Maldives is re-writing the book on sustainable luxury, proving that good hospitality and a deep commitment to sustainability can go hand in hand. This Gold certification is a milestone in the resort's mission to be an example of responsible tourism in the Maldives.
