Here Baa Atoll, the super-exclusive private island resort by Seaside Collection, is now shortlisted as a finalist in four highly sought after categories in the AHEAD Asia 2026 Awards, namely the Resort, Restaurant, Spa & Wellness and Suite categories. A true feat in its own right, Here Baa Atoll has made itself one of the top hospitality design destinations in Asia, showcasing a place that merges architecture, interior design, landscape design and overall experiences in an unparalleled symphony of beauty and sophistication.
Based within the UNESCO biosphere of Baa Atoll in the Maldives, Here Baa Atoll is a new take on luxury island living. This exclusive hideaway includes just nine residences on two unique private islands, Somewhere and Nowhere, which combine luxurious seclusion, space and a unique closeness to nature in one destination. One of the essential features of this project is cooperation with a world-class architectural studio KulörGroup, an interior design agency Muza Lab based in London, and a studio specializing in landscape designs – Topo Design Studio. With the help of their efforts, it was possible to create an innovative destination that interprets the principles of hospitality of modern islands in an appropriate way.
According to the architectural concept of KulorGroup, each building is harmonically integrated into the natural landscape of the island while allowing guests to enjoy amazing views of sunrises and sunsets and the beautiful panorama of the Indian Ocean. The sustainability and environmental friendliness were important in the project – passive cooling methods, sustainable materials, and indoor-outdoor design solutions are used in the development of buildings. Each property is equipped with big living spaces and infinity pools.
Inside the buildings, Muza Lab has developed a sophisticated interior design solution inspired by maritime culture of the Maldives. Custom-designed furniture and artisanal craftsmanship with sustainable materials make a reference to dhoni boats, stars and celestial navigation, as well as ever-changing shades of the ocean surrounding this destination.
In addition to the architecture and interior designs, Topo Design Studio has created immersive landscaping designs that seamlessly integrate with the surrounding environment. In doing so, the studio has enhanced the relationship between land, sea, and sky through the use of native plants and curated paths and garden areas in order to make guests more connected with their surroundings.
With a nomination at AHEAD Asia 2026, not only is it an honor to the quality of design within the resort but also for the cohesive vision behind it.
