Hilton today announced the opening of Coco de Mer Maldives, Tapestry Collection by Hilton marking the lifestyle brand’s arrival in the Maldives and its continued commitment to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across the Asia Pacific region. Set to open in June 2027, the all-new resort will be Hilton’s fifth development on the island nation and mark the fifth Hilton brand in the destination.
Located just 25 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the 75-cottage resort will offer discerning travellers premium island resort experiences coupled with unparalleled accessibility from the country’s main gateway. Coco de Mer will be positioned as a lifestyle-oriented retreat with a number of F&B venues, wellness centre, sea sports centre, pickleball courts and other sport and recreational facilities to meet the needs of modern leisure seekers.
“The latest addition to the portfolio reinforces the unique DNA of Tapestry Collection by Hilton as a brand of independently owned hotels that combines local flavour with the scale and service of a leading global hotelier Hilton, and access to the Hilton Honours rewards program,” said Coco de Mer Maldives.
The news comes as Hilton announced other lifestyle developments in Thailand as the company looks to build on its footprint in the Southeast Asian market. Hilton said there’s growing demand for destination-led leisure travel and as such, Tapestry and Curio Collection by Hilton’s branded lifestyle collection can capture this need by tapping into high-potential leisure markets.
Once operational, Coco de Mer Maldives will be joining fellow Hilton portfolio brands Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa and SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton in the destination. The newest opening highlights Hilton’s luxury credentials in the region and supports the company’s ambition to have more than 250 luxury and lifestyle hotels in Asia-Pacific.
With its arrival, guests who stay at Coco de Mer Maldives can also look forward to enjoying the benefits of being part of the Hilton Honors program, including enjoying members-exclusive offers, earning and redeeming Points, complimentary standard WiFi, and much more through the Hilton Honors mobile application. The resort aims to provide travelers’ unique insights into local culture, along with modern luxury and exceptional customer service synonymous with the brand’s name.
