The Maldives achieved a new achievement in tourist arrivals by hosting a record 10,213 visitors in a single day. This exceeds the previous record of 9,000 visitors set just last week, indicating a notable increase in tourist activity.
Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal announced a major milestone for the Maldives today. He commended all individuals involved in achieving this milestone, including tourism stakeholders and international partners.
Amid a month filled with success, this remarkable achievement stands out. The Maldives has welcomed an average of 7,300 tourists daily in February, with over 200,000 visitors arriving this year. This marks a notable 14% rise from the previous year's figures.

Italy and Russia are next in line, representing a variety of nationalities who have selected the Maldives as their preferred destination.
Minister Faisal expressed great optimism about the comeback of Chinese tourists and acknowledged the continued interest from European and Russian markets.
To provide to this rising demand, airlines are pleasing notice. The Ministry exposed continuing discussions with more carriers to begin direct flights to the Maldives, boost connectivity and convenience. Currently, Beijing Capital Airlines, China Eastern, and Sichuan Airlines previously operate nonstop routes between China and the island state.
The government firstly set a goal of 2 million tourists for 2024. However, fueled by the fresh achievement, the Ministry now expresses confidence for beyond this goal, aiming for an ruthless 2.3 million visitors by year’s end.
With record-breaking information, cheerful projection, and rising concern from airlines, the prospect of tourism in the Maldives appear brighter than still. This peaceful archipelago continues to freeze its location as a coveted heaven for traveler global.
