Sun Siyam Vilu Reef Marks Its 28 Years with Two New Facilities
Sun Siyam Vilu Reef is all set to celebrate its 28-year journey through a three-day celebration starting on 28 to 30 October 2026, including international music performances, world-class dining experiences, well-being services and opening of two new facilities called YAYA Beach Club and Tuscany under the theme of A New Rhythm of the Reef that will be celebrating the resort’s history and the future of Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. Founded in 1998 as the first resort of Sun Siyam, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef has become a perfect destination resort offering traditional Maldivian hospitality and relaxing environment surrounded by the beauty of nature. After recently adding a few new villas to its collection, the celebrations will mark further developments of the resort’s future plans.
Three Days of Music, Food and Wellbeing
The anniversary events will start on 28 October with the grand opening of the YAYA Beach Club, a new entertainment destination that combines beach lounging, drinks and music. The headline act of the grand opening will be Kevin and Karl, British DJs who have been called “The Flag Twins”. The founders of the London-based HE&D, The Flag Twins are well known for fusing electronic music with fashion and culture. Having been spotted by Renzo Rosso in 2018, they have since been working on projects with famous fashion brands like Gucci, Armani, Christian Louboutin and Calvin Klein and making a name in the London’s electronic music scene. DJ Abee will also perform to make up the exciting music experience at the resort’s new venue. Also, the first day of the events will feature the introduction of Tuscany, the resort’s new Italian restaurant with the special dinner served by Chef Fatjon Goga. An Albanian by birth and having experience of working at Italian restaurants, Chef Goga has previously worked at well-known Italian establishments like Don Alfonso and Arnolfo. Currently he is in charge of Osteria Grande in the historical Piazza Grande of Arezzo.For entertainment on the first day of the event, Chinese vocalist Zhu Zhihao, who has performed on CCTV's Global Chinese Music Chart and Avenue of Stars, will take part in the program. The evening will come to its completion in the form of an Island Beats session by DJ Molly.
Wellness and Food Experiences on 29 October
The next day will provide the guests with a more relaxing island mood and the program devoted to wellness, mindful lifestyle, and Italian cuisine. Nour Montasser, a wellness practitioner, will conduct the morning sound-healing session that will give guests time to relax before breakfast and coffee sessions with DJ Molly D. Next, Maryna Pavlenko will conduct an experience of slow living including both conversation and movement that would help guests relax and be more mindful. At the end of the day, there will be another culinary session held at Tuscany where guests will participate in a pasta making masterclass conducted by Chef Fatjon Goga followed by dinner.
Yoga, Lagoon Activities, and Grand Finale
On 30 October, the festivities will be continued with a morning session of yoga and sound healing led by Maryna Pavlenko and Nour Montasser. Afterward, there will be a special breakfast in Tuscany, followed by SUP yoga in the lagoon. The lagoon activities will be organized by Wu Feifei, who is better known as Fay-Yoga, a former lululemon brand ambassador and AquaX Academy instructor, along with Wang Xue, a member of the AquaX team. The pool party on 30 October in the afternoon will consist of live entertainment by Zhu Zhihao in an island atmosphere, followed by a pool party at YAYA Beach Club accompanied by DJs Abee and Molly D. The festivities will culminate with a special culinary storytelling event at Tuscany, organized by Chef Goga, and end with Island Beats with Abee and The Flag Twins.
New Social Space Unveiled at YAYA Beach Club
As part of Signature Experiences at Sun Siyam, YAYA Beach Club will offer a new level of guest experience at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. As a vibrant place to hang out, the space will unite the elements of music, relaxed dining and beach fun, ensuring that the venue becomes a welcoming environment throughout the day. The new beach club will be consistent with the resort’s vision to deliver experiences that combine the beauty of nature of the Maldives with modern life style and entertainment options.
Tuscany Offers Guests the Taste of Italy at the Resort
With the addition of Tuscany, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef introduces an innovative concept of an Italian dining venue which will showcase the best culinary traditions of the country thanks to classic recipes, fresh seasonal ingredients and pleasure of enjoying leisure time dining by the sea. The main chef in charge of the anniversary dining program in the restaurant is Fatjon Goga and he will present the unique features of Italian cuisine in a proper way, which includes not only tasty food but also cooking classes.
