The owner of FOUR travels to Velaa Private Island, one of the most upscale hotels in the archipelago. Here, magnificent surroundings, gourmet cuisine, and hospitality of the finest calibre set the stage for a delightful island getaway. It is located on its own stretch of heaven on the Noonu Atoll.
Velaa Private Island in the Noonu Atoll is one of these places, and I just had the pleasure of visiting it. Every one of these five outstanding Maldivian establishments is completely unique from the others in terms of everything from the accommodations to the services and the selection of food and drink, but Velaa epitomises them all. It provides the appropriate level of variety for a romantic getaway for two, as well as enough entertainment for a group of men or women looking for a fun getaway without it feeling weird because it's like a honeymooners' paradise.
The amenities of Velaa are perhaps the best; visitors can spend their days enjoying sports like golf on the nine-hole course that Olazábal created, tennis, squash, basketball, and even on the football field. Their watersports gear is still the most remarkable. With flyboarding, a Jetovator, electric foil boards, jetskis, and hoverboards, it is a playground for adults. Although I didn't get the chance to go scuba diving or take a day cruise on their yacht while I was a guest at Velaa, I would definitely recommend doing both of these things while you're there.
After a day of adventure, you may relax with a cocktail in the Avi Bar lounge while listening to music chosen by an in-house DJ. Then there is a choice of wonderful restaurants, including their outstanding fine-dining establishment, Aragu. Gaushan De Silva, the executive chef at Aragu and a native of Sri Lanka, has mastered his craft. He has dined at some of the world's most renowned Michelin-starred establishments, such as Alain Ducasse at Plaza Athénée, Noma, and All'Oro. His tasting menu offers the ideal blend of robust yet delicate flavours and fun yet gracefully presented dishes, taking you on a culinary tour of the freshest seafood and products from the ocean.
The teppanyaki restaurant Tavaru, which is located on the top floor of the cellar and houses the most exquisite collection of wine in the Indian Ocean, is another exceptional dining option. Tavaru offers excellent views of the island and the surrounding ocean and is a little restaurant with only ten people at each seating.
Your personal butler welcomes you upon arrival, stays by your side the entire time you are there, and is always just a phone call away. Every time, the Velaa team goes above and beyond. To make your stay as comfortable as possible, they pay attention to all of your likes, dislikes, and needs, leaving you free to take part in one of the most unforgettable vacations you've ever had.
