Vevu Villa Fenfushi

Fenfushi is one of those South Ari Atoll islands that almost nobody researches. Most people searching for whale shark access in South Ari Atoll find Dhigurah (three to four guesthouses, documented extensively) or Dhangethi (three guesthouses, also documented). Fenfushi has a handful of guesthouses, very few tourists at any given time, and the same resident whale shark population feeding ten minutes from the shore.

Vevu Villa Fenfushi has six rooms. Host Mauroof Mohamed runs the property personally and arranges everything the whale shark excursions, the manta ray trips, the dolphin watching, the fishing. The Rooms - 6, Simple, Properly Equipped

Six rooms means Mauroof and the team know every guest personally. The rooms are functional and comfortable: air conditioning, TV, wardrobe, dressing table, private bathroom with shower, and beds with 10-inch thick mattresses and two pillows per guest. Simple but properly thought through.

The specific mattress detail matters. Most local island guesthouse mattresses are adequate at best. Ten-inch thickness is above average and produces measurably better sleep — important when you're waking up at 6:30am for whale shark excursions and need to have rested properly.
