Other awards include The Pinnacle Resort Award, Best Lifeguard Service Operation, Sustainability in Lifeguard Operation Award, and Water Safety Education and Advocacy Award. All the awards indicate the efforts the resort has made to maintain international safety standards as well as Maldivian hospitality throughout its operation period.

Since its inception in 2023, Sun Siyam Iru Veli continues to make investments in its training, prevention methods, emergency preparedness, and water safety awareness initiatives. Its approach involves educating and observing guests to complement the processes of emergency preparedness and intervention.
Water safety is extremely important at all of our resorts in the Maldives where the ocean plays such a prominent part in both our guest and staff members’ daily lives. As an industry, the way that we think about safety and preparations needs to constantly evolve, moving past warnings to guests. As an industry, we need to ensure that our employees have the appropriate training, preparedness, and confidence to act when necessary. We are honoured to receive this recognition, however, there remains much more to do. Our next steps include continuing our training and improving our water safety standards as an industry,” said Mohamed Najah, Sun Siyam Iru Veli Resort Manager.
