Paced at the front of the number one nationalities were visitors from the United Kingdom with 23,210 tourists, followed distantly by tour parties from China (21,928) and India (10,253). Russia also joined the list heavily with 20,649 visitations, the United States producing 6,448 visitors.
European nations such as Italy (19,120), Germany (14,119), and Switzerland (5,399) were represented in good numbers, a strong indication of the Maldives' popularity among tourists from across Europe. Poland, with 5,354 tourists, was a sign of increasing interest from the Eastern European market, contributing to the mix of tourists.
The United Kingdom has been a traditional and steady market for the Maldives for years, continuously holding a top 10 source market status for tourists. Yet, China maintained its position as the year's top market overall.
During February 2025, a total of 214,091 tourists visited the Maldives, slightly lower than the 217,391 visitor tally seen during February 2024, yet building on an aggregate figure of 428,954 arrivals to date in the first two months of 2025.
