Being part of this prestigious and outstanding list is an outstanding achievement for our team. Six Senses Laamu’s philosophy has always been to show the world that indeed luxury and environmentalism go hand-in-hand. This is not only a testament to our hard work as a team but also to our local community’s dedication to our beautiful Laamu Atoll ecosystem.” said Marteyne van Well, Regional General Manager.Located in the beautiful Laamu Atoll in the Maldives, Six Senses Laamu prides itself on its dedication to environmental studies and research initiatives. The formation of the Maldives Underwater Initiative, with the help of different non-governmental organizations, has played an important role in the improvement of reef rehabilitation and research in the atoll. After the recent global bleaching event in the year 2024, scientists released three million coral larvae into the bleached reefs, which were grown in labs in the atoll. They also cloned endangered coral to help in the rehabilitation of the reefs. The resort is also the site of pioneering research projects in the Laamu Atoll. The Manta Trust has identified more than 150 different manta rays in the area and is working with the first underwater contactless ultrasound scanner to study pregnant manta rays. The Olive Ridley Project is also conducting important research projects for the study of sea turtles. The current research projects for the study of the importance of seagrass habitats have led to the identification of different species and their importance for the nurseries of different reef fish species.A defining element of Six Senses Laamu is how these scientific initiatives are woven directly into the guest experience. Visitors can explore the laboratories and galleries at SHELL, participate in marine conservation initiatives, dive alongside working biologists, and earn specialty diving certifications focused on manta rays and reef ecosystems.

In view of the increasing threats to coral reefs worldwide, Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives has introduced a coral restoration program with the hope of helping to heal the house reef.Coral reefs are some of the most sensitive ecosystems in the world, and they are under threat due to various environmental changes such as increased sea temperatures, coral bleaching, and human activities. These ecosystems are not only home to thousands of species, but they are also important for the well-being of our oceans. In addition to this, the hotel’s efforts to promote sustainability have been complemented by the proactive role played by Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives in the regeneration of the reefs. This is through the coral restoration programme. The programme was successful in placing 25 coral frames. These frames were later planted with coral fragments obtained from the naturally broken-off coral pieces found in the lagoon or reef environments. Eventually, the coral fragments will develop to form coral colonies. These coral colonies will later contribute to the rebuilding of the reef structures. This will provide a habitat for all sorts of marine life to thrive. This will contribute to the rebuilding of the balance of the reef environment. The coral restoration programme will provide an opportunity to raise awareness among the staff and guests on the importance of conserving the reefs. By caring for the coral frames, the hotel is contributing to the building of the strength of the reef environment surrounding the hotel. This is while the hotel is contributing to the conservation of the reefs found in the Maldives.

Villa Park Maldives Debuts Two-Bedroom Beach Pool House
Villa Park unveils new Two-Bedroom Beach Pool HouseThe Two-Bedroom Beach Pool House is the newest addition to Villa Park Maldives’ family-oriented villa options in one of the most diverse and family-friendly islands in Maldives. The Two-Bedroom Beach Pool House is a new accommodations type measuring 456 square meters and represents the highest level of accommodation at Villa Park Maldives. The spacious villa has been designed to accommodate families or small groups, with large living areas, more space and greater privacy, and an easy transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.Located in a tropical garden setting, the villa has its own private swimming pool and is surrounded by plenty of outdoor space, providing guests with a place to relax and enjoy being immersed in nature. Located steps from the beach, with a direct view of the lagoon's turquoise water, the villa creates the atmosphere to slow down and enjoy the island lifestyle. The design of the Beach Pool House revolves around convenient practical solutions for the family unit…and so a floorplan designed as simple as possible reflects both convenience and comfort by bringing the family unit together within shared spaces while Individual bedrooms provide a contrast between the common/shared areas of living/bedrooms. In addition to providing direct access to the ocean via parks/sandy beach, the family can enjoy the beautiful views from each/bedrooms to the pool/sea, to create both aesthetically pleasing and essential features of those rooms.A beach house should also establish a sense of security and hence its location must create this feeling. Sound landscape planning and positioning relative to each other is an important part of developing a relaxing, private retreat for guests, which is matched by the view obtained from an elevated terrace balcony, which serves to enhance guests' enjoyment of both the natural surroundings, and of the culture/rhythms of the island itself, through the swaying of the palm trees.Another key reason why Villa Park Maldives is a prime destination for families to spend their holiday is due to its longstanding reputation as a destination with excellent +/or long constant island environments such as perfect long sandy (or unbroken) beaches (white sand), incredible tropical blue lagoons, and a myriad of family-friendly activities. I will only reference this last point in my written responses as there would be no good/appropriateness to this response. The resort is within the South Ari Marine Protected Area and boasts year-round opportunities for whale shark encounters, one of the Maldives’ most recognizable marine animals. These unique encounters create a direct connection to an extraordinary marine environment while guests enjoy a relaxed getaway on the island. In addition to its stunning beaches and marine life, the resort has a diverse range of experiences in wellness and dining. At Araamu Spa, an award-winning spa, guests can unwind and experience unique, fresh island ingredients and locally inspired dishes at ZERO Restaurant, a treetop restaurant that offers unrivaled dining experiences. With the addition of Two-Bedroom Beach Pool House, Villa Park Maldives continues to improve its collection of accommodations by offering families and groups even more space, privacy, and immersive island living options near the top of their collection of villas near the top of their collection of villas
