To advance the Global Day of Ladies and Young ladies in Science, Kuramathi Maldives resort joins the call to advocate for female portrayal in science among the more youthful age.
The Maldives Marine Research Institute, the Maldives Manta Ray Project, the Olive Ridley Project, the Salted Ventures Swimmers, the Men of Water diving centre, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), and the Maldives Airports Company Ltd. are just a few of the institutions Kuramathi will highlight in an exhibit at the Eco Center on February 10. (MACL).
The main event on February 11th will feature a career discussion to encourage women and girls to choose careers in science. Female role models from the participating Maldivian organisations will speak to invited schoolchildren from the neighbouring islands, offering their perspectives on their work and accomplishments. This workshop, which attempts to create a window for the young participants to learn about the many career choices available to them in the science sector, is persuasive and motivating.
"We firmly think that in order to protect and preserve our world, both passion and knowledge are required. In order to close the gender gap in the representation of environmental and conservationist female role models in the Maldives, our goal for this event is to provide school-leavers with a wide range of employment options, says Sara Scroglieri, Resident Marine Biologist at Kuramathi.
By working with nearby islands to assist their livelihoods, provide educational outreach, and develop local talent, community building is embedded in Kuramathi's sustainable methods.
