This Year of the Snake, Jumeirah Olhahali Island invites guests to a luxurious escape in the Maldives, celebrating rich traditions, culinary excellence, and peaceful wellness. The resort will be hosting a specially curated program between January 21 and February 7, 2025, marking the Year of the Serpent, offering immersive experiences that honor timeless customs.
A highlight of the celebrations is the return of the 'Flavours of China' culinary pop-up, led by Chef Charles Liu, the Chinese Executive Chef from Jumeirah Guangzhou. With over two decades of experience at renowned five-star hotels, Chef Liu presents a meticulously crafted six-course menu. Dishes such as Typhoon Shelter Crispy Fried Oysters and Deep-sea Grouper Broth can be enjoyed, in addition to mains such as slow-cooked Abalone with Fish Maw or braised Maldivian Lobster with Caviar. The menu will include pan-fried Australian MB9 Wagyu Beef, steamed Alaskan King Crab Leg, and Raspberry Cheesecake and tropical fruits. A premium Chinese wine list will be provided to complement each course.
Seasonal dining experiences fill out the culinary celebration. It will start by giving the guests a great Asian-inspired floating breakfast served over a serene private pool view, the warmth of the evening of the oceanside hot pot dinner, and exciting Asian market nights replete with local specialties against the waves' gentle sounds.
Rejuvenation seekers are treated to serenity at the Talise Spa. Suspended above the water and featuring glass floors, the view of marine life in treatments is magical. Visiting spa therapist Mia Liu from Jumeirah Guangzhou offers moxibustion therapy, an ancient Chinese ritual blending heat and deep tissue massage with a view of bringing balance back. Also, on board is the naturopathy expert, Dr. Shagnika Pradhan, conducting Reiki sound healing sessions; it's where energy therapy mixes with sound vibration.
The fun does not end there. Island activities are all-inclusive. Guests can be creative at the MURACA Art Studio, which offers workshops such as zodiac-inspired ceramic painting, candle crafting, and traditional Maldivian coconut bowl decorating. Adventurers can snorkel with turtles, swim alongside tropical fish, and spot dolphins in the open sea within the surrounding marine ecosystem.
These are complemented by the contemporary overwater and sand villas located at Jumeirah Olhahali Island. Each of the 67 villas is just marvels and comes with private rooftop decks, pools with stunning views, and massive glass windows that let in an abundant of natural light. Dining options are as eclectic as a private painting lesson to an exquisite banquet.
