Chef Pepi Anevski Leads Tsuki at Coco Bodu

Coco Bodu Hithi in North Male Atoll is excited to announce the arrival of our first visiting World Sushi Champion, Chef Pepi Anevski, this March. Originally from Macedonia, Chef Pepi achieved first place at the World Sushi Cup 2013 in Tokyo and is widely recognized as a highly innovative sushi expert. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in traditional Japanese sushi and trained in Chiba, Japan under the guidance of Mr. Masayoshi Kazato. Chef Pepi is a certified sushi head chef and holds credentials from the World Sushi Skill Institute and the All-Japan Sushi Association (AJSA).

In 2019, he launched Sushi Rebellion in Mälmo, Sweden, aiming to offer top-notch sushi with a rebellious twist in a relaxed, urban setting. The establishment was recently recognized as one of Sweden's top 10 sushi restaurant.

“What I bring to the table is a solid understanding of cultural differences, a strong track record of working cross functional, and understanding of the whole value chain from raw product to the customer’s plate”, says Chef Pepi.

Coco Bodu Hithi has been inviting guest chefs since 2012, and Chef Pepi is the first sushi expert to lead the Tsuki kitchen. He will delight guests with two special dinners on March 31st and April 1st. Moreover, he will present two unique culinary experiences, merging the vibrant flavors of the Maldives with Japanese and East Asian traditions. Chef Pepi's upcoming visit guarantees a sensory treat.
