The Banyan Tree Group, one of the top independent, multi-brand hospitality groups in the world, has hired a new MarCom trio that will create successful campaigns to advance marketing communications goals for its properties in the Maldives.The new team will make sure a larger reach in multiple sources in an effort to potentially capture additional market segments and ultimately boost the revenue for all three properties. The new team is focused on the purpose-driven mission of stewardship and well-being while providing excellent design-led experiences.

Having worked extensively in the hospitality, travel, and tourist industries for 13 years in the Philippines and the Maldives, Ronalaine Fernandez Sato is the MarCom and PR Manager.


Rona worked as the assistant manager of PR and communications at the German-owned Seaside Collection's Finolhu Baa Atoll in the Maldives before to joining Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts. Her arsenal included inventiveness, meticulous attention to detail, adaptability, a "can-do" mentality, the capacity to work under pressure, know-how, and warmth, all of which she used to great effect in the resort's major renovation and reopening in 2020. She started working with Finolhu in 2019 as a sales executive, and after becoming regular, she was promoted to sales and marketing executive before being hired for her most recent role.


Rona has also worked in contracting and sales, respectively, for local tour operators Alpha Maldives and Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts.


She has been employed in the Maldives since 2014 and has a thorough knowledge of both the industry and the location. She was the Area Communications Manager of two properties in Bohol and Mactan, two of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines, before making the huge move to work in a foreign country.


She likes to play the ukulele and self-learn new languages in her free time.

Riri Anggraheni Eka Rimandasari

Anggraheni, Riri Eka Rimandasari, the E-commerce Manager, has more than 9 years of marketing expertise. She spent three years working at Cornerstone Retail Management, a subsidiary of Sheraton Hotel Group Indonesia, as a customer relationship management, e-commerce, and digital marketing manager.


Riri has worked as a journalist for local web programs as well as national TV (tvOne and Trans TV). She was chosen to represent Indonesia at the World Journalism Conference at Thomson Reuters in London in 2019.


In order to create Peduli ODGJ Indonesia, a community that strives to offer care for those with mental illness, she collaborated with the private and business sectors in 2020. She aspires to increase awareness among her coworkers since she believes that having excellent mental health at work increases productivity.


She is eager to enjoy herself in the sun and elsewhere because she has never been to the Maldives before. Riri intends to explore the enchanted underwater realm on the island nation with her PADI Open Water Diving certification.

Last but not least, the Banyan Tree Group has employed Khaled Jarrah, Assistant Digital Marketing Manager, for approximately two years. He held the position of marketing executive at Banyan Tree Doha before to taking on his new position. In that capacity, he oversaw the hotel's digital marketing, administered its website, and optimized content across all social media channels, resulting in an increase in reach of 267.7% on Facebook and 339.7% on Instagram within a year.


Khaled is a native of Jordan and began his career in the hospitality industry as a chef in illustrious hotels in Qatar, including Crown Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn - The Business Park, and IHG Hotels and Resorts. He was chosen to take part in the IHG future leader program after becoming a sous chef. This opened up the door for him to learn about the fascinating and demanding field of sales and marketing, which enabled him to explore his creative side and led him to a position in digital marketing.


Khaled makes time to take online courses and training in order to further improve his abilities in digital marketing. He is adamant that you should "love what you do, and do what you love."


Khaled enjoys trying out delicious and novel recipes and cooking for his family and friends because he is a food enthusiast.


To strengthen the offline and online presence of Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Dhawa Ihuru, and Angsana Velavaru across the globe, as well as to send the right guests to each resort, three new team members with diverse backgrounds have been added.
