To support sustainable efforts in the Maldives, Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and CNN International Commercial struck a collaboration deal for advertising and branded content. On February 28, 2023, a signing ceremony took place at the MMPRC offices. Thoyyib Mohamed, the CEO and managing director of MMPRC, and Mr. Abhijeet Dhar, the director of sales for CNN International Commercial, signed the contract. The international campaign will run from May through June 2023.
By emphasizing neighborhood and grassroots initiatives that protect the natural beauty and environmental richness of the Maldivian isles, this campaign will show a distinctive aspect of the Maldives. CNN will use this to highlight how the Maldives welcomes a new generation of ecologically conscious tourists. The campaign will showcase Maldivians who are paving the way for sustainable tourism and cultural preservation in the Maldives, from recycled resort interiors to volunteer-based conservation programmes and community appreciation.
The CEO and MD Thoyyib commented on the relationship by saying that the Maldives is setting the standard for sustainable tourism and that it is time to publicize and spotlight the locals at the forefront of these activities to a broad international audience.
Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Abhijeet Dhar said that the Maldives continues to astound the globe with its cutting-edge and homegrown methods used to protect the natural beauty of the islands. He added that the engaging branded content and captivating narrative of CNN can help to promote the Maldives as a sustainable vacation spot to travelers who are concerned about the environment.
CNN will broadcast and distribute specialized material during this campaign with the tagline "The Journey Matters in 2023" This will contain content that is widely accessible worldwide, such as articles, videos, ads, and social media posts.
For the fourth time, MMPRC and CNN are collaborating to promote the Maldives. To maintain a destination presence in the worldwide market during the epidemic, three highly successful initiatives were conducted.
