To memorialize World Food Day on October 16th, 2023, JA
Manafaru, the recipient of the Maldives 'Best Culinary Resort 2023' award,
introduced a new dining concept called 'Wellness Your Way.' This initiative
aims to cater to the wellness needs of luxury travelers by offering a dining
experience that promotes their overall well-being.
JA Manafaru recently organized a beachfront food festival that catered to
different dietary lifestyles. The event, attended by travel media, agents, and
island guests, featured a variety of entrees and main courses that accommodated
various eating preferences. The highlight of the evening was the extensive
selection of desserts, ensuring that even those with dietary restrictions could
enjoy a sweet treat.
Celebrity Chef Luke French, known for his work at Joro Restaurant in the UK, made a special appearance at the launch event. He brought his culinary expertise to JA Manafaru and will be involved in various 'Wellness Your Way' initiatives. One of his main focuses will be training the culinary team in fermenting procedures, with the aim of creating homemade soy sauce, miso, and other fermented products for Homemade@JA Manafaru. These new additions will complement the island's Wellness Beverage program, which includes homemade Kombucha and more.
At JA Manafaru, guests can enjoy a diverse dining experience with options to cater to different eating lifestyles. The resort offers separate menus for vegan/vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free, and low-carb diets. These menus feature a wide variety of dishes made from specially sourced ingredients, including homegrown fruits and vegetables. Guests can confidently order meals that align with their dietary preferences and enjoy a delicious and satisfying dining experience.
Under the leadership of Executive Chef Moosa Nazeeh, the culinary team has taken a closer look at healthier options and developed creative methods to recreate guests' beloved dishes. This ensures that a wide range of menu choices are available to accommodate all guests.
Executive Chef Moosa Nazeeh and his team have been working on creating a range of plant-based options for the island's menu. This includes plant-based meat, cheese, and seafood alternatives, as well as homemade low carb bread and pasta made from konjac. Chef Moosa has also been experimenting with vegan "buffalo" mozzarella and creating delicious sugar and low carb nut brownies.
Chef Moosa and his team at the culinary resort in the Maldives have been honored with the title of "Best Culinary Resort." This achievement is a testament to their dedication and creativity in the kitchen. They are constantly pushing themselves to come up with new and innovative dishes that will enhance the dining experience for their guests. By making small changes to ingredients, they are able to cater to a wider range of tastes and attract a new audience of health-conscious diners. The team takes pride in their ability to create customized menus that showcase their expertise and passion for culinary excellence.
The launch of the 'Wellness Your Way' initiative was celebrated during the 'World Food Day' event. As part of this initiative, a new 'Alchemy Bar' has been introduced at Calm Spa Sanctuary in the Maldives. Guests can now attend workshops at the bar to learn how to make herbal remedies and participate in short wellness programs that can be incorporated into their vacation experience.
General Manager Jason Kruse finished, “While guest wellness is a focus at JA Manafaru, and our dramatic spa familiarity can only be described as a soulful sanctuary, we do not intend to become a pure wellness goal. ‘Wellness Your Way’ is a way of contribution our guests more choices to improve their holidays with wellness essentials. It is vital that guests who come to our island feel evenly relaxed to one day eat salad and work out, and the next day enjoy a seven-course wine degustation in our cavernous wine cellar”.
