For its network of properties in the Maldives, Marriott International has announced the appointment of Jan Wagelaar as Market Director, Revenue Strategy.
Jan joined Marriott International in 2007 as an Inventory Manager for Marriott's London hotels, beginning a career spanning an amazing 15 years in the sector. Multiple internal promotions resulted from his commitment and excellent performance, and in 2014 he relocated to Dubai to lead the revenue strategy and analysis for 9 hotels, displaying his adaptability and knowledge.
Most recently, Jan worked for The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore as the Director of Revenue Strategy, where his keen business sense helped to regularly produce exceptional financial results across all key performance indicators (KPIs). He received the renowned APEC Revenue Strategy Leader of the Year for Luxury Hotels award twice, in 2018 and 2022, in recognition of his accomplishments.
Frank Ehret, who held the job for four years before leaving for an internal promotion, was successful during his time until being replaced by Jan as the Market Director, Revenue Strategy for the Maldives. I'm excited to start my new post working along the exceptional sales, marketing, and revenue teams for the Maldives, Jan said in response to a question about his appointment. I'm eager to work with the resort teams on revenue strategies to keep achieving excellent results in the Maldives, where there are seven beautiful resorts, each with its own distinctive features.
Outside of his work, Jan indulges his enthusiasm for travel by visiting restaurants and bars to sample new cuisines. He enjoys cycling and collecting sneakers, among other things.
