At the LUX* South Ari Atoll, a new record for the longest underwater kiss is set

The popular LUX* South by global hospitality group The Lux Collective The official resort of the South African-based conservation couple, Beth Neale and Miles Cloutier, who break the world record for the longest underwater kiss to celebrate Valentine's Day 2023, is Ari Atoll in the Maldives.

Beth Neale, a mermaid in heart, is a certified PADI advanced scuba diver, Pure Apnea Master freediving instructor, conservation filmmaker, and four-time South African freediving champion. She broke the previous world record of 3 minutes 24 seconds 34 frames set in Italy in 2010 with the help of her husband, acclaimed filmmaker Miles Cloutier. They want to encourage others to fall in love with the magic and delights of the aquatic environment by sharing their underwater love story. The duo is of the opinion that oceans require all the love they can get in order to be preserved for future generations.

At LUX* South Ari Atoll, one of the biggest resorts in the Maldives, on February 4, 2023, the longest underwater kiss record of 4 minutes and 6 seconds was broken. The official adjudicator for Guinness World Records, Mr. Swapnil Dangarikar, attended the event and verified the accomplishment. On the island, a champagne party was held to commemorate the achievement. The pair then had a special welcome from Trans Maldivian Airlines while they were flying back to their home country.
