On Friday, Malaysia Airlines revealed three new routes, one of which is to the Maldives, as part of its strategy to grow its business by targeting the leisure market.
The airline will provide improved connectivity from its main center in Kuala Lumpur, with new direct flights to the location, with tickets available for sale opening Friday. Malaysia Airlines will start daily flights to Maldives from August 1.
We believe we are highly competitive in the market. If you purchase these fares today at MATTA (Fair), you can be assured it will be one of the best deals available from a premium carrier, offering affordable experiences. This statement was made by Dersenish Aresandiran, the chief commercial officer of the airline business, during a press conference.
Our plan is to avoid competing directly with the top player, overcapacity, and markets primarily focused on budget leisure. To achieve this, it is crucial for us to increase international traffic, explained Datuk Izham Ismail, MAG's group managing director.
The airline revealed its new A330neo business class and economy class seats as part of its fleet modernization plan, before the planned delivery of the first aircraft in the third quarter.
The upcoming A330neo cabin for Malaysia Airlines will introduce several innovations for the airline, including the debut of Collins Aerospace Elevation Business Class seats. These seats will be located in an all-suite cabin with individual privacy doors and will come equipped with wireless charging pods at each of the 28 Business Class seats.
Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, the Chief Operations Officer of MAG's airline business, announced that the airline is poised to become the top global carrier offering Elevation seats on the A330 airframe. This move will further establish its standing as a pioneer in passenger experience and innovation.
