Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has announced plans to instate six to eight resorts this year. The minister emphasized the Ministry of Tourism is extend full support to ensure the expedited opening of these resorts.
Speaking at a programme aired on PSM reports, Minister Faisal declared
numerous resort developmental project in 63 islands were delayed, when the current management took workplace. The minister noted that practical achievement of project on 22 of these islands had been overdue for a comprehensive period. Hence, the department has required recommendation from the lawyer universal concerning the development of these growth projects.
Also, Minister Faisal discloses that thought were detained with several of the contractor in charge of the developmental projects. The minister confirmed that the department was prepared to provide support and maintain in construction and atmosphere looking for investors if essential or changing the sponsor to a leader lease foreign sponsor. He expressed assurance that up to six or eight resorts can be publicly opened through this year.
According to the data released by the ministry, 174 resorts now manage, providing services to tourist. The resorts contain a bed ability of 42,965 beds.
