As part of efforts to expand its fleet, Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has published a tender for the finance lease of two ATR 42-600 aircraft. The order to lease these aircraft is currently undergoing final approval. A deadline of July 22 has been set for interested parties to submit ideas.
This replacement for the fleet's outdated Dash-8 aircraft will improve operating capability. Three ATR aircraft, which Maldivian has already introduced, have shown to be trustworthy alternatives. The ATR 42-600 will be delivered in two batches, the first in late 2023 and the second in the first quarter of 2025.
The leasing program supports Maldivian's mission to offer travelers a secure, comfortable, and up-to-date travel experience. Along with making this announcement, the airline leased five more ATR aircraft in April. Maldivian demonstrated its dedication to fleet diversity and expansion by leasing an Airbus A123LR last year, and plans to lease two Airbus A330-200 aircraft were disclosed in February.
Maldivian anticipates considerable interest in the financing leasing of the two ATR 42-600 aircraft from respectable industry players. The cutting-edge aircraft will increase the airline's effectiveness in providing customer service and support the expanding Maldives tourism business.
