From May 8 through May 13, Nikita Gandhi, the winner of MasterChef India Season 4, will be a guest at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi to commemorate the growing popularity of customers who prefer plant-based meals. Gandhi, a lacto ovo vegetarian specialist, will be preparing a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as offering workshops and food pairings, so that visitors can learn the finer points of vegetarian Indian cookery.
Gandhi, who was born and raised in Abu Dhabi, has always had a passion for complex culinary techniques and food pairings. At the age of eight, he began cooking on his own. She worked in finance before trying out for Season 4 of MasterChef India, where in 2015 she became the show's youngest-ever champion.
Some of the most renowned chefs in the world have already been welcomed by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, which launched its popular celebrity chef residency program last year. These chefs include Marcel Thiele, the creator of SPICEHUNTER®, Michelin-starred chef Christophe Chiavola, and Indian celebrity chef Hermant Oberoi.
In addition to providing cooking demonstrations in the resort's main kitchen, Gandhi will organize a variety of breakfast and dining experiences for visitors on the island. The events on the calendar will include:
During the resort's usual breakfast hour, a catered Indian vegan breakfast is served at Iru restaurant. A portion of the breakfast buffet will feature the chef's creations, and then there will be a meet & greet where the chef will discuss the inspiration for the meals.
During the Indian night buffet meal, a showcase of Ghandi's distinctive vegan cuisine will be on display in one area of the restaurant.
A live Indian vegan cooking class where she will demonstrate how to combine flavors from the Middle East and India, followed by a tasting of the foods she has made.
A four-course vegan set meal with cool drinks that are well matched to the food will be created by Ghandi. First come, first served, with a $75 supplemental charge.
"MasterChef was really the turning point in my career," says Nikita. I was challenged to envision and produce the unimaginable during the competition, and I still make an effort to do so. I always use vegetarian ingredients, and I get a lot of my creativity and originality from my Middle Eastern and Indian ancestry, which really helps to make each dish special.
I'm excited to introduce flavors that have never been served at Iru Fushi, encourage visitors to try new foods, and give them the knowledge they need to try making them at home.
Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, which has 14 pubs and restaurants, is proud of its outstanding cuisine. The most discriminating palates can be appeased at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, which offers award-winning Italian cuisine at Trio, mixology lessons at Water's Edge, a live show-cooking Japanese experience at Teppanyaki, French cuisine at the celebrated overwater restaurant Flavours, Asian fusion at Bamboo, and Maldivian seafood at Islander's Grill.
The five-star Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, which spans 52 acres and has 221 villas and suites, is tucked away in the natural splendor of Noonu Atoll, a picturesque 45-minute seaplane ride from Velana (Male) International Airport. It achieves the ideal mix between rural charm and understated grandeur. Families, friendstrips, couples on a honeymoon, and groups of pals can all enjoy this island playground. This tropical island is the ideal destination for a wellness retreat thanks to its award-winning Thalgo France Spa, which offers more than 140 treatments. Families can also enjoy kids under 15 sleeping and eating for free in a room with two paying adults while they enjoy and learn about the local marine life at Nemo's Reef and participate in fun activities at Koamas Kidz Club.
