Maldives welcomes the first tourist of 2024, Benjamin Duncan Moore. Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/ Visit Maldives) detained a unique festive event at Velena International Airport yesterday morning to stain the significant event. British citizen Benjamin arrived this morning on voyage EY278 from Abu Dhabi. This is Benjamin first trip to the Maldives, and he is here for leisure time holiday at Villa Nautica Resort Maldives.
Benjamin Duncan Moore received a warm welcome at the airport from representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Maldives Immigration, Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun Public Limited (Dhiraagu), and CROSSROADS Maldives. The Minister of Tourism, Honourable Ibrahim Faisal, was accompanied by the Deputy Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Mohamed Bassam Adam, the Deputy Chief Officer, AOCC & Customer Relations of MACL, Mr. Ibrahim Hareef, the Deputy Head of Airport Division, Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, Mr. Ali Sunan. Additionally, the Director Brand and Marketing Communications from Dhiraagu, Mr. Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, and the General Manager of Crossroads Maldives, Mr. Alexander Traeger, were also present at the event to commemorate this significant occasion.
The first traveler expected a gracious holiday from CROSSROADS Maldives with a stay in SAii Lagoon Maldives and in Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. Other unique gifts were also conferred to the first tourist of 2024, excluding assistance from the Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, MACL, Maldives Immigration and Dhiraagu.
MMPRC conducted 402 advertising campaigns last year, including fairs, roadshows, familiarisation trips, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews, with a collective reach of 46,791,558,024. Late last year, the Maldives protected the title of WTA’s ‘World’s Leading Destination’ for the fourth year in a row. In addition to securing The World’s Leading Destination 2023 title, MMPRC was honored as the World’s Leading Tourist Board 2023, marking the instant consecutive year winning this important title. The Maldives also usual the newly-introduced Global Tourism Resilience Award at this occurrence, given to the 5 leading destinations and countries for tactically build ability to recover quickly and flourish after disruptions.
